Why subscribe?

As If is a newsletter begun in July 2024 — a sort of blog or personal journal you can read in your inbox or online.

I view existence, personal and collective, as experimental. I don’t assume everything is knowable, but I know some things are. To some extents. Whatever reality is, it is complex and dense with potentials. We start where we are, with the faculties and tools we have, and work outward from there. We try to account for our drives, innate and learned biases, and the affordances and limitations baked into the nature of things. Let’s spend a little time each week looking into ways to make sense and make meaning. Let’s have some fun along the way.
